Laurie interrupts Corey's encounter with his bullies at One Stop Shop and takes him to the hospital where he meets Allyson. She invites him to a costume party the next night.

Allyson brings her car to the auto shop where Corey works. Laurie runs into Hawkins at the grocery store. Allyson and Corey attend a costume party, where Corey runs into Jeremy Allen's mother - the woman whose son he accidentally killed 4 years earlier. Corey and Allyson fight. After another encounter with his bullies, Corey falls over a bridge and runs into Michael Myers in the sewer, where Michael spares his life after seeing his same evil in his eyes.

After returning to the sewer and killing a homeless man in self-defense, Corey apologizes to Allyson, taking her to the house where he accidentally killed Jeremy Allen. Laurie visits Corey's mother. Corey takes Allyson for a ride on his bike. Corey lures Allyson's ex-boyfriend to the sewer for Michael to kill, then spends the night with Allyson.

Laurie meets Jeremy Allen's father. Corey and Michael team up to murder Dr. Mathis and the young nurse he brought home. Corey takes Allyson to the roof of the WURG radio station building.

When Laurie tells him that he will never be with Allyson, Corey Cunningham attempts to kill himself - though Michael Myers finishes the job. Laurie - with Allyson's help - finally manages to kill Michael, and the residents of Haddonfield dispose of his body in an auto salvage yard.

Laurie finishes her book. Allyson leaves town. Hawkins brings Laurie a gift basket.
