There was a surge in proton radiation and then zip. Like, it got fried. Mariner 14 is just inside the orbit of Mercury. So it can't be related to the flare. It's too fast.         • Top secret U.S. satellite carrying assault rifles, so that the Manchester Arms Company can advertise the R-9 as the official Space Force gun for committing mass shootings on the moon. Or hunting. (Season 1 episode Save Epsilon 6!)

        • Communications satellite. Astrology report on TV that replaces planets with with TV network satellites: "Sattilac 5 is in conjunction with NetSat 7. SkyTel 489 is in the ascendant." (Season 1 episode The Blanks)
    • The Populus Probe
        • In 2055, the Populus Probe left Earth to explore the planet we now call Tanis.

        • Gamma quadrant probe that mapped the Idran system, the closest star system after Sisko and Dax enter the wormhole, a ternary system consisting of twin O-type companions. (Season 1 episode Emissary)

        • Probe NASA lost contact with - turn out it crashed into Omnipotus, devourer of worlds - a parody of Galactus from Marvel Comics (Season 2 episode Alone Together)
    • Sat 7 Satellite
        • Satellite on the pulsar world that picks up an unusual reading - unusual declination for an object that's just penetrated the outer plane of the system. (Season 3 episode The Exodus Part 1)
