Metropole Saloon
J.B. Books asks Gillom Rogers to visit three men with violent reputations: aging outlaw and brother of a man Books killed Mike Sweeney, Faro dealer and deadly crack shot Jack Pulford, and Gillom's boss, dairyman Cobb - telling each of them that Books will be at the Metropole at 11:00 am on his birthday January 29th. On the morning of January 29th, Books' headstone arrives, which includes Books' death year as "1901", but no day. Books gives Gillom his beloved horse, bids farewell to Bond, and then boards a trolley for the saloon.
