The best way to reach the top of the towering cliff known as Round Hill was to go around by a back road called Spruce Lane that led up from White Brook Hollow, then take an old trail that led past some circular pits called the Granite Bowls, and on up beside the brook to High Ridge, directly in back of Round Hill.
