While the date is not mentioned in the movie, website Baseball Prospectus was able to identify the specific game between the Cubs and the Braves that they are shown attending, based on the players shown. The actors weren't actually at that game - they filmed their scenes in the stands on September 24, 1985, at the Cubs' game against the Expos.
