	June 13, 1979 Pamela Vorhees murders 9 people, mostly camp counselors in and around Camp Crystal Lake, before final girl Alice Hardy decapitates her with a machete. The title card confirms the month and day, but not the year. The year is confirmed in Part IV, when a group of teenagers on their way to Crystal Lake find Pamela Vorhees' tombstone, with the death year of 1979.
